Be creative in the park! Biweekly creative hangouts

Wilsonville gatherings: every other Wednesday afternoon, July 15, 29, August 5, 19, September 2, 9, 23

Lake Oswego gatherings: Sunday afternoon, July 26 and August 9

Tigard gatherings: Sunday afternoon, August 23 and September 6

Are you a neurodivergent person who does not "fit in" with conventional faith communities, no matter how hard you've tried? Or, are you just looking for another intentional time and space for a community, in addition to your regular church involvement? Infinitus will be holding biweekly informal gatherings/meetups during the summer of 2026, starting in July and through September.   

To accommodate different scheduling needs, there will be Wednesday afternoon gatherings and Sunday afternoon gatherings. These experimental meetups are very light on agenda, quite open-ended, and mainly designed to inspire conversations and friendship.

This is ideal for those who just need "body doubles" or excuses to get outside, as well as for those who are seeking low-pressure, low-key opportunities to make new friends. Bring your own creative projects (art, craft, writing, etc.) and supplies. 

Note 1: These groups are not worship gatherings, Bible studies, or discussion groups, but if you are interested in those, we can discuss how we might do those in the future (maybe in the fall, after this summer series is over). Your input is greatly appreciated! 

Note 2: You are welcome to these summer gatherings regardless of your faith traditions, religious affiliations, or lack thereof.

Accessibility notes: All locations are wheelchair-accessible and have ADA-compliant public restroom facilities. As these will take place at public parks, there may be some background noise, including screaming children/babies and motor vehicles (please bring noise-cancelling headphones or earplugs if you need them). All locations except Lake Oswego are near a public transit (TriMet or SMART) stop. 

Weather policy: A gathering will automatically be rescheduled if either (1) the projected high temperature for that day exceeds 90 degrees (according to the National Weather Service), or (2) the projected probability of hourly rainfall at the time of the gathering exceeds 0.2 inch. The Wilsonville gathering will be rescheduled for the following week (same day of the week, same time). For the Lake Oswego and Tigard gatherings, a new date and time will be announced to those who have signed up.  

Why "creative hangouts"? From our values statement: We are building "a center of culture-making, social transformation, and cultivation of the parallel social institutions and intermediary communities" (emphasis mine). Let's make a new culture together!
